Clerics have insisted that a saner country can forge when proper attention is accorded the girl child’s upbringing especially at the formative stage of life.
The assertion was made at the 13th Annual Ramadan Lecture and Child Dedication service organized by the Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation a faith based group theme,“ The Girl Child”, held at Tabjol Event Centre Agboyi Ketu LCDA, Lagos on the March 25th,2023.
The Guest Speaker As-Sheikh Abdul-Rafii Babatunde Muh’d Awwal who dissected the Qur’anic dictates on how best to raise the girl child opined that much care and caution need be accorded the specie of God’s creation, which according to him has special features divinely structured to bring about a sane world.
Sheikh Babatunde Muh’d Awwal noted that most of the successful men and even the unsuccessful ones if critically observed was due to the backing or otherwise of their wives
He charged the faithful sho thronged the venue of the annual programme never to neglect the most important subset of the society- the girl child which eventually metamorphosed into women.
“The girl child is the divine pivot of care in the world, the importance of women in the society is immeasurable even the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SWT) give special recognition to them.
I urge all parents to take good care of the girl child, being am ambassador of each family in whichever family they later get betrothed later in life.
He also raise a salient point on why women need take up better roles in the Islamic setting, citing the fact that with better understanding of the Qur’an noting stops them from taking up key roles especially when majorly women gathering are to be coordinated.
“Stop leaving the teaching and impartation of your girl child to the teachers at school,with better knowledge of the Qur’an they can take up roles in Islam to further ease coordination.
“They to know early in life that truthfulness, neatness, trustworthiness and tolerance is key, it makes Islam perfect. Be happy when you give birth to girls, I also want to urge women to be godly in their pursuits. Women need to complement men.” Cleric said.
A guest at the epoch making event Hon. Samuel Olanrewaju Adebayo fondly known as SOA a Christian and friend to the founder of the Foundation, note that what made the event a must attend for him annually is the set goal of ensuring peace in the society, through spiritual as well as healthy conversation around topical issues for the betterment of the society and nation at large.
In a chat with newsmen the the Missioner and Chief Imam Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation,Ustaz Ridwanulahi Abdullahi reiterated the yearly routine of the faith based group, adding that every society future hinges on how well the children and especially the girl child is groomed.
“The importance of the girl child in the society is numerous and muslims need to train the girl child being an Institute on her own, when properly raised we will have a saner community and society.”
Secretary Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation Mr. Adekunle Razak Aderibigbe however tasked parents never to neglect training of the girl child, citing the numerous benefits it holds for the nation.
In the view of the founder Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation Hon. Abdulwaheed Odunuga, having waited for the conception of a girl child for over 18 years, the addition of a baby girl named Faisa to his family is a divine gift from Allah after losing an election.
Odunuga who contested the Federal House of Representatives seat in Kosofe state that his loss was a blessing in disguise.
He added that the essence of the programme was to advocate for a proper training of the girl child in every homestead in the nation.
“We realized that we cannot have a nation without first having a woman, whose childhood and formative years matters alot and determines the future.
“Training is key for all the children and especially the girl child, fortunately for us we lost an election but we believed God actually gave something in returns that is a female child which I had been expecting for more than 18 years.
“That basically informs why we are celebrating it with the Ramadan and our theme actually centred on the girl child,” Odunuga said.
