The Leader of the Islamic faithful in Nigeria and the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammed Sa’ad Abubakar has announced that fasting begins for Muslim faithful in Nigeria on Saturday April 2, 2022.
This according to him, follows the sighting of the moon in some parts of Nigeria by many prominent clerics.
The Sultan, the Chairman of the National Moon Sighting Committee, and leader of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (SCIA) said with with the sighting of the moon by a league of prominent Islamic clerics, the mandatory Ramadan fasting, can now commence for Muslims faithful across the country.
He urged the Muslims to use the period of the Ramadan to draw closer to the Almighty Allah and to pray for unity, peace and progress of the country.
