The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) His Majesty Chapel in Ahmadiyya organized a “Jesus Market” to give back to the community in order to cushion the effect of the economic hardship in the country.
Pastor in charge of the parish, Mr. Temitope Farotika while declaring the market opened on Sunday explained that the market is aimed at extending a helping hand to residents.
“We understand the challenges Nigerians face, and as part of our social responsibility, we want to contribute our quota to ensuring ease in the land,” he said, referencing the church’s leader Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s emphasis on helping others.
Deacon Success Igbinoba, the market coordinator, stressed the importance of Christians supporting their neighbours.
“The program’s success is thanks to our members who graciously donated to this cause,” he said.
In response to the good gesture by the Church to the community, many individuals were seen trouping into the market ground to pick up needed items for their survival, expressing their gratitude for the timely intervention, which they described as a good sign of care for the needy.
