The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has ordained 15,008 new Ministers of God at the church’s 70th annual convention.

The ceremony, which took place yesterday, was supervised by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, at the church’s Old Auditorium, Redeemed City, Mowe, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Ordinees was officially presented to the General Overseer by the outgoing National Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Joseph O. Obayomi, who said the figure was made up of 10, 584 Deacons and Deaconesses and 4,424 Assistant Pastors.

It was the second day of the 70th convention of the church, which kicked off on Monday with graduation ceremony of the students of the Redeemed Christian Bible College (RCBC).

The ordination ceremony was a regular event every convention of the church was performed by the Assistant General Overseers and other very senior Pastors of the church.

While the Deacons and Deaconesses were ordained only by the laying of hands, the Assistant Pastors were ordained by the laying of hands and pouring of anointing oil on their heads.

Pastor Adeboye later decreed pastoral unction into the life of new ordained ministers of God.

This year, the RCCG Convention which entered its third dayt, is a double celebration, as the church is marking its 70th anniversary and 40th year of the annual convention. Earlier in March, the GO had marked his 80th anniversary, while his wife and Deputy General Overseer of the church, popularly known as Mummy GO celebrated 70th birthday in July.

In his sermon, Pastor Joseph Olaiya, congratulated the Redeemed Church for hitting the landmark age of 70 years.

He charged all the new ministers to exercise their rights as ambassadors of Christ to declare dominion and Jubilee to the oppressed, the depressed and the forsaken.

He urged them as new ministers not to doubt the powers of the Holy Spirit and never to give in to self-doubt but to decree in the name of God, the father, son and the Holy Spirit for the setting free of the captives.

He said the Holy Spirit will always give them unction to perform in accordance with his word which promised greater works to his disciples.

He said Jubilee, was the Israelites experience with their slave master Egyptians who kept them as slaves for 430 years, before they got their freedom.

He said the ministers should eschew sin in order to continue to wax stronger in the Lord.

The theme of this year’s convention, which runs from August 8th to 14th is Perfect Jubilee. Pastor E.A. Adeboye is expected to lead other annointed men of God within and outside the mission at the service.
