A crown prince from a royal family in Isheri-Olofin Kingdom, Prince Idris Balogun has refuted the claims of a particular Mrs. Kehinde Agbetomije, in an online news content that recently went viral as ill intended, spurious and a targeted attempt to change the narrative of what really transpired about a landed matter he is not directly responsible for, to tarnish his image.
Prince Idris, who disclosed that he had nothing to do with the ongoing construction on the plot of land in question, which according to him was originally part of the six plots of land allocated to one of Isheri-Olofin families, who incidentally lived abroad for years and decided to stay action on construction of work on his property due to the court case.
“The claims are lies from the pit of hell against me. It is important to state that the land in question on No 4, Adetayo Street, Freedom Gate B/stop, Ikotun is part of a vast portion of lands that belong to Isheri-Olofin people.
He added that, he only tried to assist Mrs Kehinde Agbetomije and her family who visited him at his hotel for intervention, but they never returned for feedback and resulted to blackmail on Punch online.
Prince Idris Balogun is known to have chains of businesses, being an hotelier, who is also into real estate and management of properties with good track records.
The case with suit No. ID/488/80 which lasted for 41 years was between the paramount ruler of Isheri-Olofin kingdom, OBA WAHABI AYINDE BALOGUN, the father of Prince Idris Balogun, (for himself and on behalf of Isheri-Olofin people and Ishau Olorunfunmi and others as defendants.
“Ironically, late Mr. Jide Agbetomije was one of those who bought plots of land from some trespassers and judgment debtors. And that particular 1 plot of land which Mrs. Kehinde Agbetomije, her daughter, Mrs Olayemi Osunusi and Punch Online are using to tarnish the image of Prince Idris Balogun, is part of the six plots of land which was allocated to one of Isheri-Olofin families who incidentally lived abroad for years and decided to stay action on construction work on his property due to the court case”.
According to him, the said publication dated February 19, 2021 by a veritable news platform, berates what the ethics of good journalism profess, as the signed judgment in Suit No. ID/488/80 delivered by Honourable J. L. B. Lawal-Akapo on 15th May, 2012 at Lagos High Court, Lagos Judicial Division at Court No 44, Commercial Division, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Complex, Lagos suffices.
Subsequently, upon the judgment by Honourable Justice L. B. Lawal – Akapo, which was announced on Radio Stations and published in National Dailies for public awareness, the owner of the 6 plots of land took possession of his property which already had structure built by trespassers and judgment debtors on five (5) plots out of the six (6) plots of lands, that belong to him excluding the one plot which Mrs. Kehinde Agbetomije is laying claims to as her late husband’s land.
Adding that the outright maligning of the prince as a land grabber, without carrying out proper investigation and balance reportage is condemnable.
He however, stated that he is at a loss on why Mrs. Kehinde Agbetomije and her daughter could desecrate judicial pronouncement by a court of competent jurisdiction, saying the judgment is a sham.
