One of the things that is lacking in homes and marriages these days is Romance. Most Christians are more used to the Book of Romans chapter than to the concept of keeping a Romantic atmosphere with their spouse. The religious organizations are not helping matters as some churches are in the habit of keeping their members busy Mondays to Sundays over unnecessary issues, meetings or fellowships. Most people head to their church Mondays to Fridays after the close of work to attend one meeting or the other and get back home late, eat dinner and hit the Bed. No closure of any kind with the Wife or the Husband while the Pastor is having a nice time with his Wife in his house Mondays to Sundays. Saturday is another activity in the church and Sunday is a whole day of affairs, from morning till evening. No life.
Sir, Ma, you need to stop all this madness and start paying closer attention to your spouse, marriage and home before it starts falling apart. Placing any religious activities above your spouse and marriage is proof of your immaturity. Your Pastor preoccupying you with church activities is not helping you and that is not serving God. That is your Pastor using you since you lack the wisdom to plan your life and time. So, rather than wasting the time completely, he gave you a duty, an activity carefully designed to help him accomplish his aims and objectives. So whether you fail or succeed in life or your marriage is none of his business so long he is succeeding and making progress.
In Hebrews 13:4 Apostle Paul said, “Marriage is honourable among all,” which means, marriage is honourable among everything that pertains to life and the fulfilment of purpose and destiny. But it takes a person of honour to under how honourable marriage is. Another translation of the Bible says, “ Marriage should be honoured by all”. “Let marriage be held in honour among all”. “Honor the sanctity of marriage” It doesn’t matter what you are doing in your religion all in the name of serving God, so long you are not honouring your marriage and treating your Husband/Wife as he/she should be treated with honour, then you are wasting your time and it is a question of time before you lose your spouse and destroy the marriage.
Going out on a Date with your spouse either once a week or twice a month is very crucial if you are interested in making the marriage work. Date nights are very essential in a relationship, both in courtship and marriage. They help you get to know each other better, have fun, and enjoy each other’s company. TYPES OF DATES EVERY COUPLE SHOULD TRY
So many couples forget about dating each other or going on a Date the moment they get married. Most especially the over-spiritual born-against individuals. This is not right as you are gradually killing the flow of affection that glue the two of you together. Yes, things are very expensive these days but you don’t have to make the Date so expensive. Thoughtfulness is what counts so long you don’t have a selfish and self-centred spouse who only thinks of himself/herself. But if you have an understanding spouse, then the following ideas are for you and your spouse to explore.
One more thing, you don’t have to wait for your spouse to be the one to initiate the idea or finance it. If your husband/wife does not have the financial capacity to handle it and you can, please go ahead and do it. The purpose is to cement your relationship and reenergize your passions for each other not to take advantage of each other. Please, bear this in mind.
Whatever you do on your Date time/days, please keep religion out of it. Religion is not God and God is not religion. Be real and free with one another. Talk issues out if there are needs for that. Have fun and return home energized.
Please, the dating is for the two of you. No third party. No children. No phones. No work. Just the two of you.
