Rotary pledges completion of cervical centre in Isola General Hospital

The 43rd President of Rotary Club of Isolo, Abimbola Oseni has pledged the completion of cervical cancer centre at Isolo General hospital, Lagos and other engage in humanitarian projects aimed at bringing hope to the rural poor in the state

Oseni said this recently at her investiture ceremony along with induction of 2023-2024 board members.  The event that took place at the Event Centre, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos also included fund raising and award presentation.

In her acceptance speech, Oseni said she key started her Rotary year in line with the theme: “Create Hope in the World” by visiting, felicitating and giving gifts to the visually impaired at Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind and Vocational Centre, Oshodi.  This, according to her was followed by maternal and child health project for the month of July which was carried out at Isolo General Hospital where pregnant women were given antenatal kits and the hospital presented with children weighing machines.

“In line with the theme for the Rotary year, ‘hope’ is a powerful force that has the ability to transform lives, communities and even the world.  It is the beacon that guides us through challenges, inspires us to persevere, and fuels our determination to bring about positive change.

“As the 43rd President of this club, I pledge that we will embrace this theme wholeheartedly and tirelessly work together to create hope in our community and beyond as we carry out projects in line with Rotary International seven areas of focus.

“We will create hope by continuing our commitment to education, empowering our youth with the knowledge and skills they need to build a better future.  We will embark on mentorship programs, vocational training, opening doors of opportunity for the next generation among others” she said.

Oseni promised completion of cervical cancer centre at Isolo General hospital  which is her star project that would be equipped by friends of Rotary.

She assured donation into Rotary foundation the sum of N10,000,000.00 by seven honorary members who are captains of industries while she would continue to work with the four Rotaract clubs in the district.

Doyen of the club, Past District Governor, Dr. Michael Olawale Cole said he believed in Oseni to take the club to higher height while the Guest Speaker, Majek Okunola Owoo lauds the ideals of Rotary International.

Chairperson, Investiture Committee, 2023-2024, Princess Tokunboh Allison assured that humanitarian projects that will touch lives in all the seven areas of focus would be carried out in the Rotary service year, 2023-2024.
