Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as part of his commitment to ensure the provision of an affordable healthcare system for the residents of Lagos State, has appointed Dr. Emmanuella Olutoyin Zamba, as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA).
Dr. Zamba, a medical doctor, seasoned technocrat and Public Servant was until her appointment, the Director of Healthcare Planning, Research and Statistics at the Lagos State Ministry of Health (2018 till date) and the representative of Lagos State Ministry of Health on the LASHMA Board (January 2020 till date)
Since joining the Lagos State Public Service in 2005, Dr. Zamba has served as the State Health Sector Investment Officer (2016 – 2018), Cordinator, Lagos State Health Sector Ouality Control Program (2015 till date), Lagos State Ministry of Health Service Delivery Director and Coordinator for Lagos State Health Sector Service Charter Cascade Initiative (2012 till date).
The new General Manager was also the Ministry of Health Representative, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Board (2012-2013), State Human Resource Health Desk Officer, Lagos State Ministry of Health (2010-2018) and Training Officer, Health Systems Development Program II (World Bank and African Development Bank Assisted) and Lagos State Ministry of Health (2006-2010) among others.
She is well versed in the public health field and constantly seeks to expand her knowledge in that and other disciplines. Dr Zamba has been awarded certifications for courses in various fields including public speaking, leadership, human resources, social policy and health management.
Dr. Zamba, who was born in Germany speaks fluent English, Yoruba, German and conversational French. She attended Corona and Queens College, Yaba for her primary and secondary education then proceeded to England for her Advanced Levels following which she obtained her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Public Health Degrees from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos.
