The Lagos State Government has disbanded forthwith the Landed Properties Special Operations Team.
The government warned anyone who continued to operate in the name of the team to desist or face the stiffest penalties of his/her action.
A statement signed by government’s spokesman Mr Gbenga Omotoso said the disbandment becomes imperative following the flood of complaints over “untidy activities” of members of the team, which operates under the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), which is under the Ministry of Physical Planning and urban Development (MPP&UD).
“After a careful examination of these complaints from well meaning Lagosians, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that the team, led by Engineer Peter Omotosho, be disbanded immediately,” the statement issued by Omotoso said.
This is part of the steps the administration is taking towards repositioning the ministry and its agencies for better services to the public.
“It will be illegal to carry out any action in the name of the team until a new rebranded team is reconstituted. Anybody who flouts this directive will face severe consequences of his/her action,” Omotoso further stated.
