Sanwo-Olu, Obasa, Odunmbaku extol Hamzat’s virtues, commitment, team spirit for Lagos Agenda at 57

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Speaker Lagos State House Assembly Rt.Hon. Mudashiru  Obasa   and the Ojodu LCDA Mr. David Odumbaku,have congratulated his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat on his 57th birthday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu describes him as a reliable, trustworthy and committed friend, brother and partner in the Greater Lagos agenda.

Dr. Hamzat, born on September 19, 1964, clocks 57 on Sunday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement, issued by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Gboyega Akosile, on Saturday, described Dr. Hamzat as a seasoned technocrat, administrator, politician and committed democrat, who has served passionately as commissioner in different ministries and now the number two citizen of the Centre of Excellence, with a resolve to bring about positive change to Lagos State.

The Governor also commended  Dr. Hamzat’s contribution to the growth and development of the State in the last 18 years, especially in the last 28 months of the current administration.

He said: “On behalf of my darling wife, Ibijoke and the good people of Lagos State, I heartily congratulate my reliable, hardworking, dependable, supportive and committed brother, friend and partner in the Greater Lagos agenda, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat on his 57th birthday.

“Dr. Hamzat remains one of the most committed public servants and politicians in Lagos State in the last 18 years and he has contributed immensely to governance and political development in our dear State.

“He made great achievements as Commissioner for Science and Technology between 2005 and 2011 as well as Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, and turn around the ministries during his tenure.

“We cherish Dr. Hamzat’s contributions to party politics and governance in Lagos State.

“He is a worthy ambassador and champion of technocracy and politics. And as a true democrat and progressive politician, he has remained steadfast in the progressive camp.

“As Dr. Obafemi Hamzat celebrates his 57th birthday, I pray that God will increase him in good health to enable you render more service to humanity, our dear Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

Obasa, in his congratulatory message described the State’s Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, as an important team-player whose contributions to governance and growth of Lagos cannot easily be quantified.

According to him, Hamzat, a technocrat and goal-getter, has remained a brother who has brought his expertise to bear in the progress of Lagos.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the media office of the Speaker, Hamzat was described as a reliable party man whose goals align with the collective zeal of leaders of the State to keep Lagos developed, stable and responsible.

“Hamzat is a committed Democrat, administrator and one who is greatly appreciated for his whole-hearted contributions to the growth and progress of our dear State.

“He has constantly shown himself an important team player and this has helped us in the government to keep aiming at the moon in our zeal to make Lagos one of the best places, not just in the country, but among notable cities across the globe.

“Congratulations, dear brother, friend and team player as you clock 57 today. Thank you for keeping the Lagos flag flying.

“I appreciate you for your contributions to governance and urge you not to relent in your love for Lagos.

“I pray that God will increase you in wisdom, give you special strength and good health so that you can remain of service to humanity,” the statement said.

The Ojodu Local Council Development Area Executive Chairman, Mr David Olusegun Odunmbaku who also joined the fray of well wishers celebrating the Deputy Governor, appraised Hamzat’s selfless contribution to governance in time past which has paid off greatly now

He stated that his legacy of setting the Centre of Excellence on the path of robust 21-century technology during his time as the State Commissioner for Science and Technology has continued to yield results.

The council boss congratulated Hamzat for another age and appreciated his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the “THEME” agenda of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration.

“On behalf of my family, Legislative arm, management and staff and the good people of Ojodu LCDA, I join others to felicitate with our Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.”

“He’s a loyal party man, technocrat and politician with a vision of digitalising Lagos State, what else can we wish him than to witness more of today in life.”
