The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Housing, Mrs Toke Benson –Awoyinka, has enjoined residents that are seeking for accommodation to engage the services of the Lagos State Real Estate Transaction, a Directorate under the State Ministry of Housing.
This advice was given by Benson-Awoyinka, at the commissioning of Alhaji Lateef Jakande Gardens Housing Estate at Ikotun/ Igando Local Council Development Area of the State by Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo–Olu to commemorate the 100 days of his administration.
She said that the State Government is concerned about the increased rate of fraudulent acts among Estate Agents and Developers that swindles unsuspecting members of the public of their hard-earned money.
“The State Government has decided to liberate Lagos residents from swindlers and fraudulent estate agents and Developers. We have received several complaints from victims of these dubious acts in our office,” She stated.
The Special Adviser advised members not to shield perpetrators of any illegal acts but instead, to lodge complaints with LASRETRAD for appropriate actions from the government.
Benson-Awoyinka stated that the 492 homes delivered by the State Government is a great stride for the residents, describing it as a major hallmark of good governance for the masses.
She admonished Private developers / Estate Agents in the State to partner with the State Government so that the issue of housing deficit can be tackled, while also considering the interest of accommodation seekers when building and fixing rentage on their properties.
