Satguru Maharaj Ji has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to establish local and state police to reduce the rate of joblessness in the country.
He made the appeal while speaking with journalists recently in Lagos at Satguru Maharaj Ji Village.
“Mr President should take the bull by the horn about the immediate establishment of LGA and State police.
“This will help to clear the back log of jobless and confused men and women who have resorted to robberies, banditry, pen robbery, child trafficking, drug abuse/trafficking, prostitution, etc.
“The President should not listen to opposition to this laudable initiative that would make the Nigerian Project have a meaningful enabling ground for success in our desire to protect life and properties of the ordinary Nigerian,” he said.
He further said that the country could give entry salary of N250,000 for police recruits with the effective control and management of two Oil Wells it has.
“We can give entry salary of N250,000 for police recruits and that includes accommodation to be built in specific strategic areas.
“Any recruit should not marry until after initial service of seven years. They have to be taught compulsory English, Yoruba, Hausa and French.
“The Police must have Police Farms to produce their own food for themselves. They can go later on into areas of fashion design, shoe making, etc., to become self sufficient.
“All we need is search for raw materials and we can have them. Each Police Station must have enough cars and buses to carry out its duties,”he said.
He said the Police Economic Team created by former President Olusegun OBasanjo should be returned whereby the team would be solely responsible for supplying the Police Force and each station with cars and so on.
“Recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force should not be by Federal character, religion, tribe or state.
“It should be done direct through the Secondary Schools to Polytechnics
and the Universities.
“Federal character, religious and tribal considerations breed nepotism, greediness, selfishness and integrity crisis and by extension failures and losses and a threat to national security.
“The Police needs about 70 re-connaisance crime control jets. In addition, each state should have about 300 quick jump start cars to give them the will power to face any challenges coming their ways,” he said.
He said the Nigerian Police Service Commission should be reorganised to leave only patriots and humanists whose aim was to give a formidable Police Force, whose lives must be insured against accidents and accidental deaths.
