The man after his arrest

This man, (name withheld), was prevented on Wednesday, from jumping off the Third Mainland Bridge into the Lagoon this morning.

The man, who claimed to be a graduate and a Chartered Accountant.

It was however not clear why decided to opt to end it all and drown in the lagoon by attempting to jump into the lagoon.

However, the RRS team who succeeded in arresting him before he could jump to his death have handed him over to the Adekunle Police station.

Sunrise News gathered that the police have already contacted his family.

Suicide rate have been on the rise in Nigeria lately, with many Nigerians, especially the youth, resorting to suicide.

No fewer than four notable cases occurred last year of people, men and women who have attempted to jump over the Third Mainland Bridge and to a certain death in the lagoon below.

The body of a Medical Doctor was recovered in the lagoon last year after he jumped over the Bridge.

Friends of the late man claimed he must have been suffered stress and have been complained of frustration over repeted failure of his final medical exams.

A businesswoman who claimed to have been heavily indebted had attempted to end her life by jumping the Third Mainland Bridge, she was rescued and rehabilitated.
