A Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) gospel minister identified as Michael Arowosaiye, has committed suicide.
According to his friend, the incident happened around 4pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Sunnyvale Estate. The deceased allegedly hanged himself with his belt.
It was gathered that Michael, who recently ministered during a Youth Praise event at the church, entered into depression over his accommodation issues before taking the drastic step.
Just imagine he had accommodation issues and he didn’t want to share it with anyone knowing fully well how he maybe mocked, scorned and laughed at and even disgraced by the so called brethren.
One wonders where the love, mercy and kindness are among us today. Now, this is getting so scary how can Nigerians especially the youths be committing suicide? What a pity!
Depression is a real issue among youths in Nigeria. One wonders how many realise that they are going through real depression. Depression is a mental health issue and in many cases requires professional help.
The suicide note of the now late Gospel singer, Pastor Michael Arowosaiye reads:
“I have been going through trauma for the past 2 years now
my financial instability has cost me a lot of shame, I have written to
the regional pastor here in Abuja and some pastors to help out in my
financial situation but everyone seems to be quiet about this matter the
best thing to take my life and let me rest in heaven where I can find
peace.”
