Relegation battlers Burnley held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, scraping off essential points off the English Premier League leaders at Stamford Bridge.
Kai Havertz turned in a sumptuous Reece James cross with well-angled header on 33rd minute to give Thomas Tuchel boys a booster against the stubborn Burnley side, heading into the half time break.
Matej Vydra however bundled home a beautiful knockdown from teammate Jay Rodriguez after the visitors beat an offside trap by the otherwise studious Blues defence on 79th minute.
The equaliser spoiled Chelsea’s hope of opening a five-point gap at the zenith of the EPL table on Saturday.
With Saturday’s outcome, however, Chelsea remain first on the EPL table 26 points from 11 games. Manchester City rank second on the table with 23 points from the same number of matches as Chelsea.
That could however change on Sunday when third-placed Liverpool currently on 22 points from 10 matches face fourth-placed West Ham on Sunday.
Burnley remain stuck firmly in relegation zone, 18 on the log, despite their efforts on Saturday. They have only one win and five draws so far this season.
