Sunday Igboho’s house set on fire

Sunday Adeyemo (otherwise known as Sunday Igboho’s house at Soka, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital has been set ablaze by yet to be identified arsonists.

Reports said the house was set ablaze around 3am shortly after the PHCN cut the power supply to the area.

Although nobody has been reported dead or injured in the fire, the sprawling mansion of the Yoruba activist who has been in the news lately for his courage to confront the Fulani herdsmen terrorising, killing and kidnapping innocent people in the Ibaarapa area of Oyo State was completely razed.

Men of the Fire Service were said to have battled the fire until a little after 6.30 am, but nothing could be salvaged from the house.

Last Friday, Igboho had led hundreds of youths from Igangan and environs to demand the exit of the Seriki, Fulani of Igangan, in Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State and his palace burnt.

It was not clear whether the latest incident is in anyway connected with attacks on the Fulani herdsmen, or who could be behind the attack on the cultural activist’s house.
