In the face of severe economic challenges facing the nation, the Senior Pastor, The Shepherd’s House Assembly, Abuja, Dr. Joshua Talena, has reassured Nigerians that there is hope for the country, if leaders awaken to their responsibilities and becomes more selfless and focused.
Talena gave the assurance at the 10th anniversary celebration of The Hour of Glory and Liberation Ministry, also known as City of Refuge, with the theme ‘Glory for Dominion and Ascension’, in Lagos.
Noting that the country is suffering from bad decisions, he said the leaders think they know much, which had resulted in the gross mistakes made by the last administration. This failure, he said, should have been studied by the present government so that they could have avoided the same pitfall.
“One year into the power, they are supposed to study. But they began with wrong decisions. So we are paying for leadership errors. It is bad, but it became worse still. Now, we can’t retrieve it than to just manage it. I am asking our leaders to think before they talk. They should plan for this nation. Short term, medium term and long term plan. How will we be out of the wood? Our leaders need to be selfless,” he said.
The senior pastor said with proper planning the leaders can provide the nation with a vision in which Nigeria can prosper, pointing out that the nation needs a direction.
“The indiscipline among the followers is because leadership allowed it. It flows from the top to the bottom. So you start repairing from the top. It is true that the grassroots need to be disciplined. If our leaders tell us this is where we are going, we will all go there. When they brought war against indiscipline, we became disciplined by force. Within six months, there is nothing Nigerians can’t turn to become. We are a people that know how to follow. So if they teach us a pattern, we will follow,” he said.
Speaking on the church anniversary, Talena said the celebration represents a decade of great impact, a time when the ministry itself is going to step into glory.
“For a long time, the ministry has laboured, done a lot of planting. They have entered their harvest season. And that is why I have come, to activate that harvest season. And that glory that has been embedded in the ministry of God’s Sabbath. What’s the secret of remaining in the ministry? Hunger for God. The greatest gift God can give you is hunger for Him. Because with hunger, you can conquer His civilization. There is no limit to which a man can accomplish this, with hunger.”
Founder, The Hour of Glory and Liberation Ministry, Pastor Godwin Edgal said that the anniversary is a milestone achievement for the ministry as God has been faithful to the ministry.
“For keeping us in these past 10 years, we believe our God is faithful. We are celebrating God’s grace and mercy for this commission. Our mandate is to win soul, and to plant this ministry in all the states and all the continents of the world,” he said.
