The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Honorable Minister of State Education, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; led stakeholders to the celebration of the ” World Teachers Day” held at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba was accompanied to the event, which took place today 5th October by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Arc Sonny Echono; Directors of the Federal Ministry of Education and Heads of Agencies and Parastatals of Education.
The Hon Minister who spoke onbehalf of President, Muhammadu Buhari, promised government’s commitment to consolidate on achievements so far towards the welfare of teachers.

The minister also assured that sooner, teachers welfare in the country will be prioritized as their service to the development of humanity and community impact contributed by them is equal to nothing, therefore, deserving the best.
The workaholic Minister of State Educatio, who is setting pace in education ministry reveveled that President Buhari, has approved a stipend of N75,000/semester for undergraduates studying Education courses in universities and N50,000/semester for NCE students.
He also assured teachers and students that there is no going back as far education is concerned and that president Muhammadu led administration will do all it can to meet up with demands bothering the sector.
During the teachers day celebration, Prizes comprising of cars, buses and electronic home appliances worth millions of naira were given to deserving teachers and schools in both the public and private categories
