Temple Group appoints Ifeoma George-Oji, Chinwe Uwaegbute as MDs of two subsidiaries

The Group Managing Director of Temple Group Limited, Prince Segun Obayendo has announced the appointment of Mrs Ifeoma George-Oji as the Managing Director of Temple SYC Limited and Mrs Chinwe Uwaegbute as Managing Director of Drivers Testing Resources Limited. 

Their appointment takes effect from April 14, 2022

This announcement marks the end of service of Prince Segun Obayendo as the Managing Director of Temple SYC Limited and Drivers Testing Resources Limited, both if which are subsidiaries of Temple Group Limited. 

The new appointees are top management staff of Temple Group Limited.

Ifeoma George-Oji joined the group in 2015 as Finance and Admin Manager and until her appointment was the Executive Director, Finance and Accounts. She brings to the table, an unblemished 28 years cognate experience in Motor Vehicle Administration, Banking and Finance and Property management. She is a member, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN and an Associate member, Chartered Institute of Transport Administration, CioTA.

 Mrs Chinwe Uwaegbute joined the group in 2012 as the Business Development Manager and until her appointment was the General Manager, Drivers Testing Resources Limited. With her background in Human Resources Management(MBA) and MSC in Management from Ascencia Business School, College de Paris, France, and her invaluable contribution as the Executive Secretary  of Nigeria Transportation Commissioners Forum, she brings to the table extensive knowledge of executing ambitious plans to develop strategic solutions for her clients.

With these appointments, Prince Segun Obayendo  takes charge of the affairs of LACVIS Nigeria Limited as the Managing Director.

Since it began operations in August 2017, LACVIS has become an integral part of the state Vehicle Inspection Service, VIS, providing automotives testing facilities for the issuance of Road Worthiness Certificate. Within the years, LACVIS has grown from a two test centres service organisation to operating 30 computerised test centres. 

With the introduction of the No Inspection, No Road Worthiness Certificate policy, announced by the Lagos State Government, effective from January 1, 2022, Prince Obayendo will oversee the vast network of inspection centres to ensure it meets up with the demands of the state vehicular population for inspection.

With over 30 years of professional experiences and major interests in the transportation sector, Prince Obayendo will be instrumental in expanding the current services of LACVIS within his strategic, policy decision roles. He brings to the fore his excellent interpersonal and sound public relations skills and an excellent reputation for strong leadership mentorship.

Temple Group Limited is the pioneer of computerised  vehicle inspection and the Drivers  Theory Test DTT, in the country. These technology -driven services contribute to the Vehicle Inspection Services, VIS, effectiveness in determining the road worthiness of a vehicle and ascertaining the eligibility of the holder of a driver’s license.

In 2012, the company was licensed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to operate Computerised Vehicle Testing Centres in the territory. This led to the birth of the first Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre in Nigeria called Abuja Computerized Vehicle Testing Service (ACVTS) on the 1st of September 2014 through a public private partnership, PPP model with the FCTA. 

This public private partnership model has been explored to birth several computerised vehicle inspection services (CVIS) in some cosmopolitan states in the country. In addition to the Abuja Computerised Vehicle Testing Service, CVIS is operational in over 24 states in the country including Lagos State.
