THE GROSS ILLEGALITY OF THE CBN ON FREEZING ACCOUNTS OF #ENDSARS SPONSORS

Emefiele

CBN Governor Mr Godwin Emefiele,

The CBN under the leadership of Mr Godwin Emefiele have began to hunt down major players, supporters and sponsors of the now famous #ENDSARS movement. This was evident in various reports from different affected persons whose account has been maliciously frozen with the allegation that they are sponsoring an act of terrorism against the nation.

The message of the Endsars agitators were very loud and clear with their spelt out 5 agenda, which includes disbandment of the notorious SARS department, improve the living condition of the Nigeria police amongst others.

The message of the conveners of this movement was not ambiguous and to show credence and solidarity, many well meaning Nigerians and government officers began to align with the peoples call for a total reform which is already long overdue.

Many Nigerians who gave their voice and financial support towards the success of this movement later became soft target of the government, notable amongst them are Falz Falana, a laywer, musician and human rights activist, Mr Macaroni, a skit maker and activist, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian center, Temitope Oladele Kindness, a Fashion entrepreneur based in Dubai, Dj Switch and many more.

These people gave their voice and support towards a movement that will guarantee the safety of all and sundry but in return they were being tagged as persons of interest in the act of promoting terrorism in Nigeria.

Pastor Sam Adeyemi who has been very active on social media platforms to encourage young Nigerians to keep pushing for what is right has been receiving all manners of threat from the government. Mr Temitope Kindness, a young Nigerian who has down well for himself in the fashion business in Dubai made A Million Naira donation towards the medical treatment of people injured at the Lekki Tollgate incidence of October 20, 2020.
In his words, ‘if I were to be in Nigeria at the time of this timely protest I may as well be one of the victims, this young people have come out to lend their voice towards a sane society and they do not deserve to be treated like this in a country that is said to be built on the labor of hero past.

Temitope Kindness is one of many other Nigerian’s who’s bank accounts where blocked and severally accused of supporting an antigovernment cause.

Freezing of accounts of customers who have not gone against the rules on banking is totally an infringement on the fundamental human right of the persons involved, a gross misuse of office by the CBN ditto other commercial banks involved and should be expediently treated as such.

The Endsars movement until being hijacked by government sponsored thugs has been a very peaceful, orderly and well coordinated movement.
