President Bola Tinubu will on Sunday host Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for a State Visit at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
This visit marks a pivotal moment in Nigeria-India relations, as it is the first by an Indian prime minister since Dr. Manmohan Singh’s visit in 2007, which laid the groundwork for a strategic partnership between the two nations.
According to a statement by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, is coming with a delegation aimed at bolstering economic and cultural ties.
During his stay, Modi and Tinubu will engage in high-level bilateral discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in critical sectors such as trade, technology, security, and education.
Both leaders are expected to sign several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) that will serve to deepen cooperation and foster mutual growth.
These agreements are anticipated to cover areas including renewable energy, agriculture, and information technology—fields where both countries have expressed a strong interest in collaboration.
