- As Hamzat urges parents to instill discipline in their children to reduce drug abuse

The immediate Past Chairman Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Apostle Oloruntoba Oke has commended the effort of the Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly Rt .Hon.Mudashiru Obasa and the entire members of the ninth Assembly for initiating the yearly stakeholders’ meeting.
Speaking at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Monumental Civic Centre, Idi-Agbon Lagos Secretariat venue of the meeting hosted by Hon. Temitope Adewale, (Ifako-Ijaiye I constituency) lawmaker, Oke said the meeting, with the theme; Increasing wave of drug abuse: A threat to Nation Building, has all must be abreast of the evils of drug abuse especially among the youths and how to curb it.
While giving kudos to the lawmaker Hon. Adewale, for a well organised meeting, he said the meeting which is being held in all the 40 constituencies in the State will help bridge the gap between the government and the governed and will help the House of Assembly to make laws that will be beneficial to the people.
Chairman Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat, told the gathering that if the parents instill discipline in their children the issue of drug abuse will be reduced to the barest.
While thanking the constituents for their support, Hon. Adewale advised the people not to stigmatise those engaged in drugs rather they should find a way of rehabilitating them. He promised to facilitate the citing of a rehabilitation centre in the local government.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Muslim and Christian community, the NDLEA, Immigration, students, market leaders, former lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government constituency I, Hon Dayo Saka Fafunmi, the APC Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairman Deacon Omole, CDC Chairman Pastor Samuel Opajobi, and representatives of the State government among others.
