Traffic advisory: FRSC alerts of gas explosion at Magboro, urges motorists to stay clear

FRSC

The Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a traffic advisory warning motorists to steer clear of the Lagos end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expreessway.

This follows on the heels of a gas pipeline explosion around Punch Newspapers headquarters in Magboro.

The FRSC Corridor Commander for Lagos-Ibadan-Egbeda DCC Kehinde Hamzat in a statement said the explosion happened when men of Julius Berger who were working on the expressway busted the pipe while excavating a surface.

“This has led to a standstill traffic situation on both sections of the expressway. Motorists are advised not to panic as professionals are being contacted to take care of the situation.”

He urged those with time bound activity to explore alternative routes and for those who can postpone their trips to do so while the situation is being out under control.
