A shocking incident occurred on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, when Comfort Olajumoke Olalere Tinubu, 33, allegedly stabbed her husband, Olusegun Tinubu, 39, to death following a heated domestic dispute.
According to eyewitnesses, the couple, who had been married for three years and blessed with two children, engaged in a heated argument at their Gbeyi residence in the Adegbayi area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The altercation reportedly began when Comfort locked her husband out of their bedroom, prompting Olusegun to confront her. The situation degenerated, resulting in Comfort stabbing Olusegun in the back.
A family source revealed that a relative living with them had intervened in the fight, separating the couple and advising Olusegun to sleep in the living room. However, Comfort allegedly attacked her husband while asleep, inflicting on him the fatal wound.
Olusegun was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The incident was initially reported at the Gbagi Police Station and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Iyaganku, Ibadan. The case is currently under investigation.
