Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp, has revealed Frenkie de Jong’s possible next new club, amid interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
Redknapp claimed that De Jong wants to join Chelsea from Barcelona this summer, adding that it will be a fantastic signing for the Blues.
Man United and Chelsea are keen to sign De Jong from Barcelona this summer.
De Jong, 25, has made it clear that his preference is to remain at Barcelona but the Blaugrana are keen to sell him to raise funds and register their new summer signings for the 2022/23 LaLiga campaign.
But Redknapp claims he has it on good authority that the Dutch star is keen to make the move to Chelsea before the window closes next month.
Speaking about De Jong’s situation to The Byline, Redknapp said: “Now it looks like De Jong wants to go to Chelsea, I know that for a fact, he wants to go to Chelsea.
“Man United are not going to get him. I have had that from somebody right at the very, very, very top at Man United, he’s made up [his mind], he really wants to go to Chelsea.
“So if he goes to Chelsea, and Man United don’t get him, I don’t know where they are going and if Chelsea gets him obviously, he will be a fantastic signing for them.”
