The UN Children’s Fund has removed its fraud notice against Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing’s ex-lover, Opeyemi David Falegan.
On his Instagram feed, @hon falegan official_, Falegan claimed to be on a fundraising campaign for the people of Ukraine with his charitable organization, ODF Foundation, in partnership with UNICEF.
On Friday, the organization’s Nigerian arm disputed the allegation on its Instagram page @unicef nigeria, labeling it a “scam.”
Despite the warning, Falegan released a video on his Instagram profile to prove that he had really contributed £61 for UNICEF’s relief operations in Ukraine.
The video demonstrated how a link was generated from UNICEF’s Instagram page to create a fundraiser on his personal page.
The Instagram donation feature ensures that donations made with the link will be directly remitted to the organisation’s account.
However, Falegan also solicited funds and added bank account details for his foundation in the fundraising post.
