SUNRISE NEWS, Lagos, Aug 13, 2020 The four workers Unions of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have said they are behind Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.

Addressing a Congress of workers  of the University on Thursday, leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) called on the Visitor to the University, President Muhammad Buhari, the Education Minister and the National Universities Commission (NUC) to speak against Ogundipe’s removal by the Governing Council and for the dissolution of the Council led by Dr. Wale Babalakin.

They also called for the reversal of the decision and rejected the appointment of an Acting Vice-chancellor in Ogundipe’s place.

We want the Federal Ministry of Lagos to please call Dr. Wale Babalakin to order and abbrogate the decision.

Today we say no to impunity, recklessness, lawlessness and abuse of process.

We have welcomed our Vice-chancellor. Continue to stay in your office.
