Veteran Nollywood actor, Ojo Arowosafe, popularly known as Fadeyi Oloro, is dead.

He died Tuesday after a protracted illness.

The details of Fadeyi’s death were still sketchy as of press time.

Born September 15, 1957, the veteran actor died at 66.

Comedian Oluwatoyin Bayegun, known as Woli Arole, who shared the news of his death on his Instagram handle said: “So happy I reached out to you sir, so happy we played our part, so happy we laughed together, so happy we were able to show our support. Rest in peace the legend Fadeyi Oloro.

“Let’s check up on people when dey (they) are alive, Let’s show love when people can feel. Let’s help when it can be seen.”

Until his death the veteran battled an undisclosed ailment for years. The Ekiti-born actor rose to prominence in the 80s and late 90s for his role as a trademarked wicked herbalist notorious for his terrorist acts with black magic.

The actor last year had cause to call on Nigerians for help in order to help him take care of his ebbing health.

The actor had said: “Nigerians should help me. Everything needed for me to be in a healthy state requires money. I am getting better with the support of people, but I have not fully recovered . That is why I am pleading with Nigerians which I have impacted in one way or the other to help me”.

He noted that though he had not gotten enough help, he would not cast aspersion on associations in the industry. He said, “Everybody has different issues they are battling with. I don’t want it to seem like I am insulting members of our association of actors.

“Though I did not get the kind of support I would have wanted, some individuals called me to greet me once in a while. I don’t blame them because they are going through different things too.”

Fadeyi Oloro was the lead actor in the cast of Nollywood producer and actor, late Alhaji Jimoh Aliu, and he acted as Fadeyi Oloro in several Television series shows among which were Arelu, Koto Aye, Koto Orun, among others.

Sunrise wishes the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
