President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that he will recover all monies stolen from Nigeria by former leaders, sustain the war against corruption, and jail all looters of the economy.
Buhari spoke on Saturday, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos, Nigeria venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) mega rally, tagged The Next Level.
He said the administration has continued to deliver on all the promises made to Nigerians, adding that all these would be sustained if voted into office next Saturday.
He therefore called on Nigerians to vote for the APC in the general elections slated for Feb 16 and Mar 2, 2019 in order to consolidate on the progress made by his administration.
Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo had told Nigerians and party faithful at the rally that the Next Level would focus on massive job creation, power generation, and infrastructure development.
He said the government would continue to pursue policies and programmes that would promote the standard of living of Nigerians.
The APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole had earler taken a swipe at the opposition PDP, and warned Nigerians not to vote for the party which has indicated interest to sell the nation’s national assets to friends.
He said: “Clearly, the PDP has shown they are against the poor Nigerian masses. They are not ashamed to sell Nigeria, when the business is good, they pocket the money, but when the business run into crisis, they pass the wahala to the government.”
He warned Nigerians against the mistake of voting for those whose stock is to plunder the nation’s resources.
The National Leader and co-chairman of the Buhari Campaign Committee Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier assured the APC that Lagos and indeed the Southwest is solidly behind the party.
He also embarked on voter education, enlightening that the index finger would be used during the coming election because of the space.
He urged the people to vote for the APC in order to consolidate all the gains of the past three and half years.
Earlier the Minister of Power, Works and Housing Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola and his colleague in the Minstry of Works Rotimi Amaechi had spoken eloquently about the progress the administration is making in making lofe more abundant for Nigerians.
Host and Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had asked urged Lagosians to vote massively for the governorship candidate Mr Banajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
He said Sanwo-Olu has what it takes to sustain the pace of development and take the state to the next level.
He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his support for the development strides of Lagos State.
The highpoint of the event was the handing over of the party’s flag to the governorship candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all flag-bearers including Senators Oluremi Tinubu, Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) and Pepper, as well as all the House of Representatives as well as House of Assembly candidates.
