Who killed Samuel Omenga? That is the big question that the families of Samuel Onuwu Omenge have asked the Nigerian police to help them unravel.

Samuel Onuwu Omenga, aged 20, was last seen alive on Wednesday December 29, 2022. He was said to have told a cousin who he had paid a visit that he was going out to visit a friend and that was the last seen of him, until his corpse was discovered in an abandoned building at Erinosho Street, Orimolade, yesterday.

His older cousin Sunday Odeh, told Sunrise News that Samuel Omenge, lived in Ikorodu, where he works as a house boy. He had paid him a visit to celebrate the Christmas with his family at Bishop Hughes, at Cinema Bus Stop, Ogba. Samuel was said to have told his cousin that he would like to see his other cousin who lives on Erinosho Street, Orimolade, before returning to his base in Ikorodu.

His cousin first noticed the missing boy when he did not return home on Wednesday evening.

“Around 8am, my cousin said he received a call with Samuel’s GSM Mobile Number, informing him that they should come to an undisclosed address if they want to see the boy alive. The phone was switched off before more enquires could be made,” Sunday Odeh told Sunrise News.

According to him, he had gone to Sango-Ota, when his cousin called that he had received a call regarding Samuel’s whereabouts. “I asked him to go ahead and few minutes later he called back to tell me he has seen Samuel’s remains in an abandoned building on the same street where he lives.

“We went to Area G, where we were directed to the Pen Cinema Police Station, from where we obtained the Police Report to enable us take his remains home for burial,” he further stated.

He described Samuel as a peace loving young man who is full of life and have a lot of dreams. The late young man is the only child of his older sister.

He asked the Nigerian Police to help get to the root of the incident and help unravel the real cause of the death.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations officer (PPRO) Mr Benjamin Hundeyin said he is yet to be briefed about the development. He promised to get across to the pen Cinema Police Station assuring that Police would investigate the matter.
