First Bank of Nigeria Ltd. has rewarded 310 valued customers with N100,000 each, in the maiden draw of its WinBig Promo.
Sunrise News reports that the presentation took place at the Marina branch, on Friday, in Lagos.
The four-month promo, which started on Oct. 23, will run through Feb. 23, 2024 and will reward several new and existing customers of the bank with a total cash reward of N170 million.
At the end of the four-month promo, 1,240 new and existing customers would have been rewarded with N100,000 each, as each month will have 310 new and existing customers winning N100,000.
Mr Balogun Adekunle, an MBA agent, who received a cash prize of N100,000 expressed appreciation to the bank for finding his family worthy of the cash gift.
“I feel very happy and grateful to God for using FirstBank to bless my family; when I showed it to my wife she was very happy that such a kind gesture could get to our family at this Christmas time.
“I was sleeping when I heard alert on my phone and I was wondering who could have sent me such an amount of money, as I was still in deep thought, I received a call from the bank that I won a cash gift and that I should go to any of the bank’s branch to redeem my gift.
“I immediately obeyed before they would change their minds. I thank FirstBank and I pray more power to their elbow,’’ he said.
Adekunle urged Nigerians to patronise FirstBank so that they can also enjoy the benefit of banking with FirstBank.
Another customer, Mrs Grace Nsikan, an Human Relations professional, who said that she was not expecting a cash gift at this time from anywhere, described the gesture as a “very pleasant surprise.”
“Though, I frequent the FirstBank app a lot, so I see on my notifications that there are promotions ongoing, because I run the account, so I got an SMS saying that I’ve won a cash gift of N100,000. So, I said to myself it must be one of these scammers.
“I didn’t even bother checking the message. It was when I got home at night from work, I now said to myself, let me even check this message again, behold when I did so, I didn’t find the usual number that scammers normally add at the tail end of their messages for people to call to redeem their prizes.
“I didn’t see any number, I also didn’t get any SMS alert to indicate that I have won N100,000. So, I went to my app to check and I saw the money had been credited to my account.
“I sincerely thank FirstBank for this; appreciating customers is good as it will give customers the confidence to want to do more with the bank,’’ she said.
Meanwhile, the Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Mrs Folake Ani-Mumuney, said the exciting modalities of the promo reflected the bank’s commitment to enhancing the banking experience of its customers across any or all of its digital banking services.
“This is the season when FirstBank provides opportunities and platforms for the yearly memorable homecoming experience from across the world.
“The promo is an enabling opportunity for customers, their friends, and families to have exciting, fun-filled, memorable experiences.
“We encourage our customers to seize this opportunity and participate actively’ she said.
According to her, up to 40,000 customers who reactivated their dormant accounts stand a chance to win free airtime as 10,000 customers will be rewarded with free airtime monthly for reactivating their dormant accounts.
She said that six customers would emerge lucky winners of N1 million each in the grand finale draw.
Ani-Mumuney added that the promo was open to new and existing savings and current account customers.(NAN)
