The upcoming World Rubber Summit, scheduled for July 30th to August 1st, 2024, at the Banquet Hall, Aso Rock, Abuja, is set to transform Nigeria’s rubber industry.
The summit, themed “Restoring Growth: A New Reality of Trade, Investment, and Innovation in the Rubber Industry”, will bring together local and international experts to discuss the entire rubber value chain, highlighting investment opportunities for both international and local investors.
According to a release signed by Evangelist Oluwatosin Jeremiah, Southwest Coordinator of the National Rubber Producers, Processors, and Marketers Association of Nigeria (NARPPMAN), President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to declare the summit open while the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), led by Otunba Peter Igbinosun, President of NARPPMAN, has been charged with ensuring a well-organized event that maximizes benefits for Nigeria.
“Indeed, the summit is aimed to showcase the potential of rubber as a cash crop, capable of generating revenue, creating jobs, and promoting wealth creation in the region with a call on Southwest governors to take advantage of the summit to rejuvenate the rubber industry by adopting the latest advancements and opportunities in the sub-sector,” Evang. Jeremiah said
The Minister of Industries, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, also encouraged rubber-producing states to work on revitalizing the industry.
The summit, which will be attended by top functionaries from the sector within and outside the country, promises to be a game-changer for Nigeria’s economy, environmental sustainability, and citizenry wealth.
