Yobe Governor takes Giant stride to restore power to Damaturu and environs

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has taken giant stride to restore electric power to Damaturu and environs after outage as a result of vandalized KVA towers in the state.

The state government in a press release signed by the Yobe State Secretary to the Government, Baba Mallam Wali, said: “As a result of power outage in Damaturu and Environs, His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni CON has contacted the Federal Government for the reconstruction of the vandalized KVA towers. The TCN has already awarded contract for the reconstruction of the affected towers.“

The statement added that: “Meanwhile in order to provide alternative power to Damaturu and Environs. His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON has directed the R.E.B and YEDC to restore the 33KV line from Potiskum to Damaturu with immediate effect.’

The governor enjoined the general public to kindly exercise patience as Government is doing everything possible to address the situation, while also calling on them to continue to pray for peace and progress of the state and the country at large.
