In a move that took the nation by surprise, Peoples Democratic Party chieftain and former Minister of Aviation Chief Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK), switched over to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, attributing the move to the wish of God.
He also observed that a politician is nothing without power.
Waxing spiritual, after he was formally welcomed to the party by President Buhari, FFK, who was once the spokesman of the PDP said he was led by the Holy Spirit to make the decision, praising the APC for eventually evolving into a more liberal, more plural and more accommodating party.
He said he joined the APC to help in enhancing the unity of the country.
He said he was against anything that would cause the disintegration of Nigeria.
He said whatever opinion anyone may have about his credibility, as a result of his constant change of parties, was up to them.
In an interview with newsmen, Fani-Kayode, said he believed that it was time for him to cross over to join hands with the President in moving Nigeria forward.
“The point is that I felt it was time to do the right thing, to put Nigeria first and appreciate the efforts that have been made, particularly in the last couple of years in terms of security; fighting insurgency and terrorism.
