Yuletide: Police ban use of fireworks in Kogi

Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command has called on parents to caution their wards against blowing fireworks in any part of the state this Yuletide.

The Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), DSP William Ovye Aya, while quoting the Kogi State Commissioner of Police CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban in a statement on Saturday, warned youths and teenagers to desist from such acts as the police is determined to deal decisively with anybody that want to cause disturbance of public peace.

He noted that anybody caught will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

“The Commissioner of Police hereby advises all law abiding people in the State to go about their legitimate businesses and warns that the Command will not hesitate to apply the full wrath of the law against persons who take the law into their hands,” he added.

Aya, however, admonished the general public to promptly report any suspicious movement at the neighbourhood to the nearest security agents.
