Governor of Zamfara State, Dr Dauda Lawal, has congratulated the newly promoted and decorated Assistant Commandant Generals (ACG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, noting that the promotion is well deserved and a call to qualitative leadership and exemplary lifestyle to set the pace for their subordinates.
He further lauded the Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Audi-led administration for deploying to Zamfara State a crop of diligent, tactful and outstanding officers whose ability to address the security challenges in the state has enhanced its security architecture and tackled many challenges head-on.
He described them as good ambassadors of the nation capable of executing their duties efficiently.
The Zamfara State Governor was represented by his Chief of Staff Hon. Moukta Mohammed Lugga during the decorations of newly promoted ACGs at the National Headquarters in Abuja.
The Governor attributed the numerous successes made by the Corps to the quality of leadership put in place by the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi.
He tasked the newly decorated Assistant Commandant Generals to justify their elevation through dedicated, effective and efficient service in fulfilment of the mandate of NSCDC.
In his address, the Commandant General (CG) charged the newly decorated officers to upscale their performance, noting that promotion in the service is based on merit and availability of vacancies.
He expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for an improved welfare package for officers and men and pledged to keep working assiduously to deliver on the mandate of the Corps.
While extending felicitation to the newly decorated officers, the CG urged them to mentor their subordinates and impact them positively.
He also charged them to be loyal and patriotic in service to the nation.
Giving the vote of thanks on behalf of his colleagues; ACG Oliver Ugwuja promised to live up to expectations in their new rank.
Other highlights of the ceremony include the administration of the Oath of Allegiance by Commandant Akomolafe Bamiyo of the Corps’ Legal Unit and the presentation of goodwill messages by Professor Olu Ayina, Navy Captain MW Alushi and ACG CN Onuorah.
