The Joint Action for Good Governance (JAGG), a group keenly monitoring and galvanizing adherence to democratic values has thrown its weight behind proven individuals jostling for elective positions in Lagos East Senatorial District come 2023 general elections.
In a statement jointly signed by Adewale Aderibigbe and Musiliu Isiaka who were JAGG’s Coordinator and Secretary in the Lagos East respectively, urged Nigerians to ensure only candidates with integrity and good governance records are supported and voted for in the next general elections.
JAGG unequivocally declared support for three candidates with remarkable good governance records in the Lagos East Senatorial district namely; Hon. Abdulwaheed Odunuga for Kosofe Federal House of Representative, Hon. Jide Bakare for Lagos State House of Assembly, Kosofe 2 Constituency and Hon. Adekunle Razaq Aderibigbe for Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikorodu 1 Constituency under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
“We had always promoted and made recommendation towards good governance in the interest of the people.
“ For these reasons, we had declared support for these three candidates who had in the past engaged in struggle for good governance, anti-corruption crusade, provided and secured empowerments and projects for the communities”.
“Attitudes like Voter apathy, Votes buying exchange and other anomalies should be discouraged and condemned at all levels and Forums.
“We cannot continue to do things the same way and expect different results. When electorates do things rightly, good governance will be established.”
Highlighting the reason JAGG backs the candidature of the listed individuals, the group based its decision on masses oriented nature exhibited by all of them at one time or the other which has clearly transformed the living standards of many.
“The above listed NNPP Candidates in the Lagos East District, had sponsored and facilitated inclusion of constituents in various government programmes, provided free health plans, and facilitated rehabilitation of infrastructures and various forms of empowerments.
“We are sure these candidates will offer youthful, quality representation and interest of the people.” JAGG said.
