Alhaji Mustapha, Adio Olanrewaju Adekunle, popularly called Sego will today take over the reins of power as the Chairman of the Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union if Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Sego took over from the former Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo, who, two days emerged the National President of the union.
Sego’s inauguration will be the first assignment that the MC Oluomo leadership would be inaugurating, coming about 72 hours after his emergence as the number one officer of the union, which has emerged the most vocal Assembly of road transport workers in Nigeria.
Sego will be leading the most vibrant council of the union in the country which has not only drivers of all Motorised vehicles but all three and two wheeler operators and drivers.
The Oladoje Street State headquarters of the NURTW started receiving huge throng of leaders if the unions from all the units, wards and local government councils in the state since 7am who came out in their numbers to pledge their loyalty to the new leadership of the council.
Among other notable leaders who are already on ground is Alhaji Azeez Abiola, Istijabah, a notable and influential member and chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN), a notable unit of the union as well as some traditional rulers.
