The General Council of Assemblies of God (AG) Nigeria has begun the 2024 Peniel Convention, which is being held at the Evangel International Conference Center, located at Km 48, Enugu/Abakaliki Road, Okpoto, Ebonyi State.
The five-day event, which runs through Friday, November 15, 2024, is centered on the theme “Dominion Through The Light.”
Speaking on the programme, the General Superintendent of AG Nigeria, Rev. Abel Amadi, emphasized that the event was designed to revive the Church and reposition it for greater impact and relevance in today’s world.
“The task of the Great Commission cannot be overemphasized. We must prepare ourselves and renew our commitment to this mission, empowering believers to take charge in every area of life”. he said.
Rev. Amadi pointed out the widespread moral decay in the world, urging Christians to be driven by compassion to reach out to those who are lost.
“The world is full of moral degradation, and as believers, we must be moved by the love of Christ to reach the countless sinners around us,” he added.
He further expressed confidence that the 2024 Peniel Convention, under the theme “Dominion Through The Light,” would be transformative. “This convention will ignite a passion for evangelism and discipleship, as we gather to experience the fire of the Holy Spirit,” Rev. Amadi said.
Dr. John Aniemeke, Lead Pastor of Bethel Covenant Assembly of God in San Antonio, Texas, USA, is one of the prominent guest speakers at the event. He expressed his excitement about the conference, affirming that it would be a powerful gathering with the presence of anointed leaders such as Rev. Abel Amadi, along with other key ministers of AG Nigeria, including the Assistant General Superintendent, Rev Ogba Onyeije, the General Secretary Rev. Godwin Amaowoh, and General Treasurer Rev. Gabriel Michael.
Dr. Aniemeke, who has attended the Peniel Convention multiple times and is considered a spiritual “son” of the AG Nigeria family, shared his belief that the word of God would be powerfully delivered throughout the event. “I’m confident that this convention will be impactful, and many attendees will experience a fresh encounter with the Word of God,” he said.
“The Light of Christ will be revealed in a new way, and believers will walk away with a renewed sense of dominion over the challenges of life.”
In addition to the powerful preaching and teaching, the convention will feature worship sessions led by internationally acclaimed gospel artists, including Sinach and Preye Odede. Dr. Aniemeke assured attendees that the atmosphere would be charged with God’s presence, offering opportunities for spiritual transformation, deliverance, and a deeper revelation of Christ as the Light of the World.
He stressed that with its focus on spiritual empowerment, the 2024 Peniel Convention promises to be a pivotal event for AG Nigeria, as believers come together to renew their commitment to evangelism, discipleship, and dominion in Christ.
