Former presidential aide, Reuben Abati, has described as ‘quite embarrassing’, African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s criticism ⁶of President Bola Tinubu’s three-week vacation in Europe.

Speaking during Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Monday, Abati said the Atiku camp was raising questions that were embarrassing and had not been properly researched.

His remark stemmed from concerns over Tinubu’s decision to embark on a three-week working vacation outside Nigeria.

Recall that Atiku, in a statement on Sunday, slammed Tinubu’s absence from the country in the midst of widespread hardship, describing it as a disturbing vacuum of political leadership.

Responding, Abati said Tinubu was entitled to travel, noting that the President could go wherever he wanted, provided his absence did not exceed the constitutional threshold requiring him to formally transfer power.

“The Atiku group is also raising questions that are embarrassing and have not been properly researched.

“Okay, let me address that very quickly. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has now gone on what they call a working vacation for three weeks, which he is entitled to,” Abati said.
