President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated his former boss and one of his predecessors in office Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who marks his 83rd birthday today.
Buhari described Obasanjo’s life journey as a one of courage, and total dedication and service to Nigeria, Africa, and humanity in general.
Obasanjo who is officially marking his 83rd birthday has severally said he didn’t know his exact birthday, and some people have claimed the former war general is older than he claims to be.
Despite their frosty relationship, Buhari spoke glowingly about Obasanjo in a special birthday message.
Buhari praised Obasanjo’s commitment to Nigerian nationhood.
He said Obasanjo’s commitment remains outstanding and commendable.
He also underscored Obasanjo’s sacrifices for the continent, including standing up for democracy in many countries.
As the former president celebrates the auspicious occasion, Buhari prays that the almighty God will grant him longer life, good health and strength to keep serving the nation and the continent.
He also joins Obasanjo’s family members, friends and associates in celebrating the milestone.
