- Solicits support from staff
The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the State Government/Cabinet Office, Mrs.Tolani Salmot Oshodi, has solicited the cooperation of the management staff in order to achieve success as well as justify her appointment by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Mrs. Oshodi, who made the appeal during the official welcome and presentation ceremony organised in her honour by the Heads of Departments and Units of the Cabinet Office, appreciated the staff and expressed her astonishment and happiness at the gesture.
She noted that the Cabinet Office is different compared with other Ministries in terms of responsibility, as such, she declared her readiness to learn from everyone in order to achieve the mandate of her office, saying “l operate an open door policy and you are all free to come in and reason with me to achieve the goals of the Office”.
The Permanent Secretary stressed that no one has a monopoly of knowledge and, therefore, expects the heads of all departments to support and cooperate with her, adding that such collaboration would go a long way in elevating the status of the Office.
Earlier, the Director, Administration and Human Resource, Mrs. Iyabode Akinsanya, speaking on behalf of the management staff, assured her that everyone is ready to render all necessary support and assistance in order to enhance service delivery.
She added that as the team leader, the Permanent Secretary should also not hesitate to express her feelings or call anyone, who might offend her in the line of duty to order, whenever the need arises.
Oshodi was, until her present appointment, the Director, Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Lands Bureau.
She joined the Lagos State Government in year 2011 after 25 years’ cognate experience in the Public and Private Sectors in the United Kingdom and Nigeria and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations as well as M.Sc in Human Resource Management from Robert Gordon University, UK.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), Mrs. Oshodi is also an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
