Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, took a break from politics on Sunday, to attend the Graduation and Prize-Giving ceremony of Pacesetters’ School in Abuja.

He seized the forum to advocate for a curriculum review that not only imparts knowledge but also promotes entrepreneurship education.

According to Atiku, to unlock Nigeria’s human capital, foster unity, and accelerate national development, a deliberate investment in education is key.

He also asserted that education is the most powerful weapon for human development, noting that it empowers young people to become engineers, doctors, or whatever they aspire to be.

The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also reflected on his own life journey, attributing his success to the foundation laid by education.

He encouraged the graduating students to remain focused while pursuing higher learning.

The former Vice President also reflected on his personal experience with American Peace Corps teachers during his secondary school days in 1961, after British teachers left Nigeria.

“They played a significant role in shaping my academic foundation. That influence stayed with me and inspired me to adopt an American-style curriculum in my own schools,” he revealed.
