The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ilorin Zonal Directorate, has arrested 37 suspected internet fraudsters in different parts of Kwara State within a week.
A statement by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, on Wednesday, said the latest operation led to the arrest of 15 suspects in the Tanke Oke-Odo area of Ilorin on March 26, 2025.
The statement added that an earlier raid on March 22 resulted in the arrest of 22 suspects at various locations, including Tanke, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede.
“The arrest of the suspects followed credible intelligence linking them to fraudulent internet activities. Items recovered from them at the point of arrest included eight luxury cars, smartphones, and high-end laptops,” the statement read.
The commission said the suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
