Chelsea on Thursday, confirmed that Saul Niguez will wear the no. 17 shirts for the club.
The Spaniard has signed for the Blues on a one-year loan from Atletico Madrid.
The Champions League winners however have the option of making the transfer permanent in June 2022.
Saul wore the no. 17 for Atletico during his first two seasons as a regular in Diego Simeone’s squad.

The most recent Chelsea player to wear the shirt is Mateo Kovacic, who has now taken up the no. 8 jersey.
Saul will become the third Spanish player to wear no. 17 at Stamford Bridge, after Pedro Rodriguez and Albert Ferrer.
