Happy reunion with my boss for life and big Brother, His Excellency, Brigadier – General retd. Dr Mohamed Buba Marwa and his wife, Chief Mrs Munira Marwa, along with some of his cabinet members, when he was Military Governor of Lagos State.

Dr Mohamed Buba Marwa was conferred with a doctorate in Letters by the Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo, Lagos at their 28th convocation ceremony on Thursday April 10,2025.

The auditorium where the event held was named, Buba Marwa hall, in recognition of his monumental accomplishments while in the saddle in Lagos State, especially at LASU where he established the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), laid the foundation for the auditorium and held the record of doubling the subvention of LASU by the Lagos State Government .

Marwa’s name is a household one in Lagos State and had gone beyond to other South West State, where the tricycle he introduced during his tenure was given the name, Keke Marwa.

Though Marwa completed his assignment in Lagos State and left with glory and honour on May 29, 1999, the generality of the people call the tricycle which masses utilise for transportation every day “Marwa “
Among his other accomplishments in Lagos State was the reinvigorating the security outfit, Operation Sweep which fought armed robbery to a standstill, his massive construction and reconstruction of roads, including the dualisation of Lagos to Ikorodu town in Lagos State, massive housing estates and impacting all other sectors with his midas touch.
Congratulations to this charismatic, amiable, ever dynamic go – getter; who has brought his winning streak to the NDLEA , the way no other person at the helm of affairs in this Agency has done before.
Kudos to the husband of the age less beauty and fantastic homo sapien, Chief Mrs Munira Marwa, who with this honour by LASU will be having his fourth doctorate from Universities in Nigeria.
Apart from being an accomplished, refined Military Officer of the Armoured Corp division, former Governor of Borno and Lagos State, an Administrator per excellence, former Ambassador to South Africa etc , the highly cerebral personality holds two masters degree from Universities of Pittsburgh and Harvard in America.
Lots of love from my entire family, especially my Darling Wife, Mrs Oluwatoyin Ogunbambo, your prayer warrior.
