Nigeria’s Senate President Senator Ahmed Lawan had at an emergency meeting with the Nigeria’s security chiefs urged them to urgently find a solution to the growing menace of insecurity as there is no place to hide for any more for any Nigerian.
Recall that in the last two week, the Federal Capital Territory had been under siege culminating in the opposition members of the Senate and the House of Representatives served a six weeks ultimatum on President Muhammadu Buhari to either fix insecurity or face impeachment proceedings.
At the meeting with held at the Senate Chamber on Wednesday, the Senate President said the Nigerian Armed Forces have not justified the series of intervention and support that had been extended in the war against Boko Haram and insurgents in the country.
He said the National Assembly as the representatives of the Nigerians called the meeting of the security chiefs in order to know all the issues confronting them in the task of securing the lives of Nigerians.
The Chief of Defence Staff Lt. Gen Lucky Irabor assured that the Nigerian Armed Forces are not lacking in ideas in tackling the bandits wrecking havoc on Nigerians, insisting that soon things would begin to change.
