The University of Lagos’ Guaranty Trust Bank branch was on Sunday evening gutted by fire.

The building, with an enchanting waterfall, is in front of Moremi Hall in the university. It is said to be one of the most beautiful edifices in Unilag and it records high throng of students who use to take pictures at the building.

The cause of the fire is said to be sketchy at the moment, though Sunrise News gathered it was caused by a spark from an electrical supply within the banking hall.

Unilag has been shut to academic activities since February 14, 2022 when ASUU declared a nationwide strike to press home their demand for enhanced condition of service among other sundry demands.
