The Southwest Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Hon. Kilamuwaye Badmus has advocated for the rights and welfare of Nigerian workers passionately advocated for the rights and welfare of Nigerian workers. Speaking at a press conference held in Ogun State today, Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, Badmus emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive reforms to address issues such as fair wages, workplace safety, and the creation of job opportunities.

In an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Badmus underscored the pressing need to uplift the lives of workers nationwide. He stressed the imperative for President Bola Tinubu to prioritize addressing the myriad challenges confronting workers, urging for policies aimed at bolstering their welfare and overall well-being.

Badmus, in his impassioned address, shed light on the recent removal of fuel subsidies, a move that has precipitated a surge in the prices of essential commodities. He implored President Tinubu to reconsider this decision, citing its profound implications on the cost of living for Nigerian workers.

“The removal of fuel subsidies has exacerbated the financial strain on workers, making it increasingly difficult for them to make ends meet,” remarked Badmus, echoing the concerns of many affected by the policy shift.

Emphasizing the significance of May Day, Badmus underscored its role as a poignant reminder of the struggles and invaluable contributions of workers to the nation’s development. He reiterated the NNPP’s steadfast commitment to championing policies that uphold the rights and interests of workers across the country.

“The essence of May Day lies in honoring the resilience and dedication of workers who labor tirelessly for the progress of our nation. It is incumbent upon us, as stakeholders, to ensure their well-being and prosperity,” emphasized Badmus, rallying support for the cause.

In a poignant appeal to all stakeholders, including the government and employers, Badmus urged for concerted efforts in prioritizing the welfare of workers and fostering an enabling environment for their growth and prosperity.

“The prosperity of our nation hinges on the empowerment and upliftment of its workforce. We must join hands in fostering an environment where workers are not only valued but afforded the dignity and support they rightfully deserve,” asserted Badmus, encapsulating the essence of his impassioned plea.

Badmus’ resounding call resonates deeply with the sentiments echoed by countless workers across Nigeria, who grapple with a myriad of challenges in their relentless pursuit of a better life and livelihood.

As the nation commemorates May Day, Badmus’ advocacy serves as a clarion call for collective action in safeguarding the rights and welfare of Nigerian workers, ensuring that their contributions are duly recognized and honored.
