Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has officially resumed his position as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The plenary session is currently underway at the assembly chambers, where Obasa was nominated by Hon. Noheem Adams of Eti Osa Constituency 1 and seconded by Hon. Nureni Akinsaya of Mushin Constituency.
This marks the latest development in the ongoing crisis within the Lagos Assembly, which began when 32 lawmakers voted to remove Obasa and former Clerk Olalekan Onafeko in January.
On Monday, March 3, Meranda, who had served as speaker, resigned from her position and was subsequently nominated and sworn in as the new Deputy Speaker of the House.
